Accessibility Statement
SeniorDaily is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to everyone, including readers who use assistive technologies.
Last updated: February 14, 2026
Our Commitment
SeniorDaily believes that everyone deserves equal access to news and information. Our readers are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to providing a website that is usable by the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology.
We recognize that many of our readers rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, magnification software, and keyboard navigation. Accessibility is not an afterthought for us — it is a core part of how we design and build our site.
Conformance Level
SeniorDaily aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and represent the internationally recognized benchmark for web accessibility.
Level AA conformance means our site meets a high standard of accessibility, including requirements for color contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and more.
Measures We Have Taken
We have implemented the following accessibility features throughout SeniorDaily:
- Large, readable text — Our minimum body text size is 18 pixels, with a generous line height for comfortable reading.
- High contrast — All text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- Keyboard navigation — Every interactive element on the site can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone.
- Visible focus indicators — A clear 2-pixel accent-colored outline appears on all focused elements so keyboard users always know where they are on the page.
- Skip navigation link — A "Skip to main content" link appears at the top of every page, allowing screen reader and keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation.
- Semantic HTML — We use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and ARIA labels throughout the site to provide meaningful structure for assistive technologies.
- Descriptive link text — Links clearly describe their destination rather than using vague text like "click here."
- Image alt text — All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are properly marked so screen readers skip them.
- Large tap targets — All buttons and interactive elements have a minimum size of 48 pixels for easy tapping on touchscreens.
- Responsive design — The site works well on screens of all sizes, from mobile phones to large desktop monitors.
- No auto-playing media — We do not auto-play videos or audio content.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we acknowledge some areas where we are still improving:
- Third-party content — Some embedded content from third-party services may not fully meet accessibility standards. We are working with our partners to improve this.
- Older articles — Some articles published before our current accessibility standards were adopted may have images without optimal alt text. We are progressively updating these.
We are committed to addressing these limitations and continuously improving accessibility across the site.
